Drill #1: Combo Move Into Shot

Drill #1: Combo Move Into Shot

  • Start from a spot on the 3-point line. 
  • Work on your combo move (Ball Handling Section) then step into your shot.
  • BEEF
  • Use multiple combinations to go into 10 shots. 5 different spots.

Key Points:

  1. Balance after completing your combo move.
  2. Use your legs.
  3. Start slow then speed up when you feel comfortable. 
  4. Practice game scenarios (Game Winners!) 

What You Need:

  1. A basketball.
  2. A regulation basket.
  3. A regulation 3-point line.

Drill #2: 35 (Mid-range or 3-point line)

Drill #2: 35 (Mid-range or 3-point line)

  • You will be shooting 5 different shots from 7 different spots. 35 shots total. 
  • 7 spots: 2x corners, 2x wings, 2x elbows, top of the key. 
  • 5 shots: 2x layup (each hand), 2x dribble pull up (one left and one right), one spot shot. 
  • Start from the corner then once completing all 5 shots, move to the wing and repeat for all 7 spots. 
  • Keep track of how many shots you make. 

Key Points:

  1. BEEF
  2. Focus on your layups.
  3. Game pace.

What You Need:

  1. A basketball.
  2. A regulation basket.
  3. A regulation 3-point line. 

Drill #3: 8 4 2

Drill #3: 8 4 2 

  • Start on one end of the floor and attempt a layup. Sprint to the other end while dribbling and attempt another layup.
  • You only get one attempt to make the shot, if you miss, run to the other end of the floor and try again. 
  • You will have to make 8 layups, 4 dribble pull-ups, and 2 three pointers. 
  • You can time yourself.

Key Points:

  1. Focus on your layups.
  2. Work on your conditioning.
  3. BEEF
  4. Learn how to be consistent with your shot while you are tired.

What You Need:

  1. A basketball.
  2. 2x regulation baskets.
  3. A regulation basketball court.

Drill #4: Patty Mills Drill

Drill #4: Patty mills drill

  • You will have 30 seconds to compete this drill. Highly recommend a rebounder on both ends
  • Shooter will start in one of the corner 3-point areas
  • The shooter will shoot one shot from each corner going in this order:
    • Shoot from the corner
    • Run around the 3-point line to the opposite corner and shoot
    • Run diagonal to the corner on the opposite end of the court then shoot
    • Run around that 3-point line to the opposite corner and shoot
    • Sprint diagonally to the corner you started from to complete the drill
  • Your goal should be to hit 3/4

Key Points:

  1. Balance on your shot
  2. Be low when receiving the ball
  3. Find your target

What You Need:

  1. Rebounder
  2. Full court with regulation hoops and 3-point line
  3. Two basketballs
